WHO WE ARE
WHAT DO WE STAND FOR?
MTW can look back on a long history. The clan was founded as Mortal Teamwork in 1998 and was one of the most successful ones with a very engaged community in the background. After a cut in 2011 MTW was mostly inactive.
2020: MTW is back.
We want to get back to the grassroots of the idea behind MTW – Running a professional esports organization with a great community and passionate, talented players that bring MTW back to the world’s top leagues and competitions.
WHAT IS OUR MISSION?
Strategically, MTW stands out from the other teams. While many esports organizations focus exclusively on their own brand reach and particularly distinguish themselves by participating in high-reach leagues or competitions, MTW focuses more on the individual player.
MTW primarily scouts players from its own tournament series, the City Masters, and thus specifically promotes the youngsters.
In addition, every talent at MTW has access to the company’s own marketing and social media team, which will help to better expand their own channels and increase their individual reach.
WHERE ARE WE HEADING?
Securing a spot in the highest division of the League of Legends League and compete in the European Masters.
Building additional high class teams around other esports titles like CS:GO, Rocket League – and more to come.
Establishing German newcomers in the world’s best esports competitions.
Helping players to become esports professionals and great content creators.
Partner with non-endemic brands and strategic partners to have a positive impact on the esports ecosystem.
Creating meaningful and remarkable content.
WHO RUNS THE ORGANISATION?
The Hamburg-based company MateCrate GmbH took over the traditional brand MTW and now builds on MTW’s past success.
With its vision of making esports accessible to everyone, MateCrate continues to lead the way. With the „City Masters“ the company currently operates the largest tournament series in „League of Legends“ for single players in the amateur sector in Germany.
The tournament, which is just about to start its third season, has already given rise to very talented young esports athletes, who now have the chance to continue their professional career in their own talent pool.
